Katy Newell is an established actress on stage and on screen.
She has worked as an actress since the age of 13. Her first role as Susan Skinner in Rodney Ackland's adaptation of Sommerset Maugham's Before The Party at The Queens and The Apollo Theatres in the West End set her off to a good start in her career. Directed by Tom Conti and playing alongside Jane Asher, Miles Anderson, Michael Gough, Phyllis Calvert, Madeline Christie and Louise Breslin, she went on to work in television productions throughout her training at Italia Conti, the theatre arts school in London.
Katy took a break from the industry to have children. Having made the decision to resume a career that she took a break from following a year's work in a leading role written for her by Jane Hewland of Hewland International in Sky TV's popular football drama series, Dream Team Katy is enjoying going on auditions again and accompanying her sons on their auditions too.
She coaches other actors and has also directed many childrens shows, a couple of which she wrote the scripts and songs for.
Last year she attended Brighton Film School on a years film making course and enjoyed casting a number of actors with whom she has been involved in projects with or coached. Having graduated the course Katy is now a student member of the Directors Guild.
